Calling all green thumbs! There is a need for volunteers to help pot bareroot stock and thin seedlings at the NOPR Camp Tillamook location. See message from Celeste below:
Lots of changes are taking place at Camp Tillamook. If you’ve stopped by the nursery lately, you will have noticed that the nursery expansion is underway. When all of the renovations are completed, Camp Tillamook will be able to hold around 25,000 container plants and grow up to 50,000 seedlings in the greenhouse. By mid-June construction should be completed. With all of this extra work taking place, potting, thinning, and transplanting have been neglected. The Oregon Youth Authority crew that would usually be helping with this effort are busy helping with nursery construction. As a result, we are getting behind. If you can spare a day or two to help out at Camp T. with potting bareroot stock and/or thinning seedlings, it would be greatly appreciated! Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are the best days, but if another day of the week (including Saturdays) works better, just let me know and I can adjust my schedule. Please let me know by the end of this week (5/31) if your schedule can accommodate some NORP volunteer time.
