Necanicum Bird Discovery Day
Guided Bird Walk around the Seaside Mill Ponds
Led by local bird experts Steve Warner and David Bailey.

Meet between 8:45-9:00 am at the corner of Avenue S and Alder Mill Street- look for the 'Bird Walk Here' sign! Park along Alder Mill Street, or in the gravel area just next to it.

Steve and David will lead a guided walk around the Mill Ponds, pointing out birds and bird habitat as well as talking about the natural history of the area.

Bring your binoculars or spotting scopes if you have them, and dress appropriately for outdoors in possibly cool, wet weather. The path around the Mill Ponds is very low-grade gravel and dirt, and the hike should be appropriate for most ages and walking abilities.

The walk will last approximately one hour, with time for questions afterwards, and will allow ample time to make your way back to the Bob Chisolm Community Center (1225 Avenue A -- see map) for the rest of the Bird Discovery Day events.
